There Is Still Good In This World

With all that is going on in the world right now it can be difficult to find anything upbeat or wonderful to look forward to. The world, like a train about to go off its rails, seems to be hurtling towards a violent end, may Allah forgive us all.
With all that Pinstagram and FaceApp and TwitTube and Fake News feeds us on a daily basis it is enough to want to make you run into a corner and collapse into a foetal position.

It needn’t be that way, you know.

There is still so much that is good and uplifting and joyful and heartwarming and guaranteed to bring a smile to your face and coolness to your heart and gratitude to your spirit:

The sound of the adhaan
The sound of your heart beating
The sunrise,  the sunset
The smell of bread baking
The sound of kids merry making
The chuckle of a baby, the smile of a friend
The joy of sharing a meal
A big pile of dried leaves to jump in
Raindrops
Puddles to stomp in
Pizza coffee and tea
Chocolate cake for me
Silence
The sound of waves
the sound of laughter

Hugs from your daughter

A walk in nature

Birdsong

A cool breeze, playing outside for fun
Quiet moments listening to the Quraan
Empathy, kind words from a stranger
Friends family
The scents of vilua asmini and roses
Yes, even selfies with awkward poses
Prayer
Gratitude
A cloudless blue sky
A sky pregnant with rain
Quiet moments with yourself
Loud boisterous times with others..
What makes your heart sing
What makes your spirit soar?

There is still good there is still joy
If we search for it if we appreciate it
The Almighty will give us more.

Choose to make the world a better place, one kind gesture, one smile: one word at a time.
