Nothing you do is small or insignificant.
Not the greeting you give the stranger you see;
not the banana peel you remove from the road;
not the formula you teach your colleague to solve a problem;
not the smile you give an upset child.
Nothing you do is small or insignificant.
Not the WhatsApp forward you send;
not the hack you give your cousin on how to make softer chapatis;
not the directions you give to the person lost in the street;
not the tip you give to the delivery guy for being so quick.
Nothing you do is small or insignificant.
Not the fifty shillings you send to a charity for orphans;
not the clothes you send that your kids have outgrown;
not the four letter message you send ‘r u ok?’ to check in on someone you care about.
Nothing you do is small or insignificant.
Not the duaa you make for someone;
not the applause you give on her success even when you don’t know her personally;
not the hand you place on the shoulder of someone nor the ear you give;
not the baggage- especially not the baggage- you help her to carry.
Nothing you do is small or insignificant.
Even if no-one knows about it;
even if it doesn’t make the headlines;
even if someone else takes the credit for it;
even if naysayers tell you you shouldn’t have done it.
Nothing you do is small or insignificant.
So keep doing it.
“Do not consider any act of kindness insignificant, even meeting your brother with a cheerful face.” The Prophet Muhammad May Allah’s blessings and peace be upon him.
