It Is With the First Step That The Journey Begins
You have to start somewhere. Usually at the bottom. Typically doing the hardest, least desirable item on the description box.
There will be know-it-alls. There will be those who demand to know: “what are you doing with your life?!”
But persevere.
Because you are the one who has to live with you. With the feeling that you failed your loved ones; but mostly with the feeling that you failed yourself. Because you didn’t go after what made your soul sing.
There will be haters. Those who will say “you are too good, too old, too young, too female- too male- for this.”
No matter.
Because you have to go home and face yourself in the mirror. Knowing you could have but didn’t.
Sometimes you have to start at the very bottom.
Sometimes you have to start over. Sometimes you have to start again even after you started over.
There will be instances you will want to throw in the towel and say : “the h*ll with it, I am done!”
But persevere.
There is so much good still to be done, so much contribution still to be made.
And still so much of your potential for you to realise.
Doesn’t matter what you aspire to. As long as it is right in the eyes of God.
You have breath left.
You still walk the earth. You have work to do. Go out and do it.
It needn’t be what is expected of you. It needn’t be what you dreamed of as a child. It just needs to be what you and only you can give the best of.
Go after it.
Sometimes in pursuing it God will show you it isn’t for you.
How will you know if you don’t start? How will you know if you don’t take yourself by the hand?
Sometimes you may not know what your calling is, what or where your foot is meant to leave its print on.
Don’t concern yourself with that.
Just gift your every action with wholeheartedness.
Be sincere. Be present.
Be a joy.
Be the one to leave every room better than you found it.
It will come to you. Your path. The difference you yearn to make.
It will.
When you are truly sincerely wholeheartedly ready it will come.
You have to start somewhere.
For now start with a prayer.
